Professor Hubert M. Dyasi, Professor Emeritus, City University of New York, is a science education specialist. He has taught undergraduate and graduate science education courses and supervised school-based student teachers. In addition to directing science teacher education programs serving New York City school districts, he has worked with the New York State Education Department and nationally with schools and school districts to develop their inquiry-based science education programs. For twenty years, he directed The City College Workshop Centre, an internationally respected science education and general education development organization. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Oxford (England) and the California Institute of Technology; he has also been a Fellow of the National Institute for Science Education, and a member of the National Research Council's Committee on Science Education K-12.
Dr. Dyasi is a member of the Global Activities Committee that provides professional advice and leadership on science education to the Inter-Academy Panel, a worldwide network of National Academies of Science. He has written extensively on the subject of inquiry-based science education.
